What do you think...? MySQL Toad

I just came across Toad for MySQL

Please let me know if you think it's worth a try and if it's a good replacement for MySQL WorkBench (which contains more bugs after every update!)

Cliff Pearson's Gravatar I haven't used Toad in ages and have in fact never used the MySQL variant, so I can't comment on that specifically.

I would however like to give a mention to Aqua Data Studio, from Aquafold software. It's cross-platform and works very well with a variety of different databases, not just MySQL.

I've used it successfully with MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle and Sybase and find it a re4ally powerful tool.

I recently blogged about my 'Development Toolkit': http://www.rustybadger.co.uk/2008/11/21/my-develop...

Ernst van der Linden's Gravatar Thanks Cliff,

Yeah, I tried Aqua Data Studio a long time ago, but then switched to HeidSQL (formely mySqlFront).
Maybe I'm gonna give it a shot.

p.s. Good blog post by the way!

shag's Gravatar hands down... Aquafold. It is the best software for connecting to any database. I was telling a buddy about it a couple of releases ago. I gave him a top 10 reasons why I like it. I couldn't stop before I got to the 20's. Not only that, at the time it was half the price and didn't have to be used with one specific dbms.

Ernst van der Linden's Gravatar I just installed Aqua Data Studio. I love the ER-diagram feature.
That's what I was looking for, great!

The export features and interface of Toad are much better though.

Chris Haubner's Gravatar I have not used TOAD for MySQL so I am going to give this a try. I have used it for Oracle before and it was not bad.

I have used the MySQL admin tools and also Navicat. Navicat is very nice as well, but not open source or free :)
